Early voting in Florida closes on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 for the 2026 general election. The final dates depend on the county where a voter is registered.
The state began accepting early ballots earlier this month. The registration deadline passed on Oct. 5. Voters who missed that cutoff must cast their ballot on Election Day.
Most of the listed Central Florida counties end early voting on Saturday, Oct. 31. Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Marion, Polk, Sumter, and Volusia counties all conclude early voting on that day. Hours vary by jurisdiction. Brevard County polls close at 4 p.m., while Flagler, Lake, Marion, Sumter, and Volusia close at 6 p.m. Polk County did not specify closing hours in the provided data.
Three counties extend early voting to Sunday, Nov. 1. Orange and Osceola counties will accept ballots from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Seminole County will hold polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
During the early voting period, a person may vote at any precinct. This rule changes on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3. On that date, voters must cast ballots at their assigned polling location. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time. The Panhandle operates on Central Time. A voter in line before 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
Voters must present a valid photo ID with a signature. Acceptable forms include a Florida driver's license, passport, or student ID. A voter information card lists the assigned precinct but does not serve as a valid ID.
Initial results will release shortly after 7 p.m. on Nov. 3. Updates will continue as each precinct reports its counts.
