The National Basketball Association will play 12 games on Wednesday, October 28. This represents a sharp increase from the four contests scheduled for the previous day. Daily fantasy operators such as DraftKings and FanDuel now offer a wider selection of players for their contests. The expanded schedule requires participants to evaluate more variables when constructing their lineups.
A number of star players are expected to take the court. Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Nikola Jokic are all slated to play. Newcomers Caleb Wilson and Yaxel Lendeborg will also be available in the player pool. Conversely, Anthony Edwards and Kawhi Leonard will miss the action due to knee injuries. Their absences may create opportunities for their teammates to assume larger roles and offer value at lower salary cap prices.
Mike McClure, a professional daily fantasy player with over $2 million in career winnings, provided analysis for the slate. McClure serves as a predictive data engineer at SportsLine. He utilizes a model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times. This system factors in specific matchups, statistical trends, and current injury reports to forecast player performance.
McClure identified Timberwolves point guard LaMelo Ball as a key selection. Ball carries a salary of $7,700 on DraftKings and $7,900 on FanDuel. He has averaged 14.8 points, 6.3 assists, and 2.0 rebounds in his early games with Minnesota. With Edwards out for approximately two months, Ball is positioned as the team's primary scorer and playmaker. The Timberwolves face the Warriors, who have allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing point guards on both major platforms this season.
Hawks guard CJ McCollum represents another focus for McClure. McCollum costs $5,300 on both DraftKings and FanDuel. He recorded 20 points on Monday and currently shoots 53% from the field and 44% from three-point range. Atlanta will face Miami on Wednesday. McCollum has scored at least 20 points in his last four games against the Heat. In that span, he also averaged 3.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
The matchup against Miami appears advantageous for McCollum. The Heat defense currently allows 121.8 points per game, ranking seventh highest in the league. This figure is lower than the defenses McCollum faced in his previous four contests against the team. McClure indicated that additional high-value picks are available through SportsLine, though those specific selections remain exclusive to that platform.
