AEG Presents announced on Sunday that its new 1,500-capacity venue, Moonline, will open in 2027 in the same space currently occupied by Emo's. The company released the first batch of shows for the room, which is slated to undergo renovations to its sound system, green rooms, backstage areas, and guest amenities before its debut.

The initial calendar spans from February to May 2027 and includes acts across a wide range of genres. Scheduled performances include a Talking Heads tribute band, HeartByrne, on February 13, followed by Los Angeles alternative rock group Bad Suns on February 17. Pop singer-songwriter Chelsea Cutler is set to appear on February 26, while British progressive metal band Haken is booked for March 4.

Later in the spring, Chicago indie rock band Beach Bunny will perform on March 6, and metalcore group Currents is scheduled for March 12. The lineup continues with New Jersey emo and punk band Saves the Day on March 24. A double bill featuring New York hardcore band Gorilla Biscuits and Terror is set for March 31, followed by Houston rapper Paul Wall on April 2. Postmodern Jukebox will perform on May 22, and indie rock artist Blondshell closes the announced run on May 26.

Robin Phillips, the Southwest Region VP for AEG Presents, described the programming strategy in a press release. "This first run of shows is exactly what we wanted Moonline to be: a room where a hardcore show, a pop show and a Houston rap show all feel at home in the same month," Phillips said. "Austin has always made room for every kind of music, and we built this calendar the same way."

Ticket sales for most of these dates begin with artist presales on Thursday, October 29, with public sales starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 30. Beach Bunny is the only exception, with its presale starting Thursday, November 12, and public sales following on November 13. Tickets are available at moonlineaustin.com.

Moonline is a new business operating in an existing space, distinct from the new 4,000-capacity United Heritage Hall located a mile away. While Emo's moves back downtown to a location near where it started more than 30 years ago, the two AEG venues will share an ownership structure but operate separately. United Heritage Hall is part of a mixed-use development still under construction and is expected to host larger, mainstream acts, whereas Moonline will focus on alternative and touring talent with national fan bases.
